The National Football Foundation announced on April 8 that five members of the Maine Black Bears men’s football team have been selected for the Hampshire Honor Society.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. The honor is given to senior players set to graduate in spring or summer, as well as graduated players or graduate transfers who played during the previous season and have already earned a bachelor’s degree. To qualify, athletes must have maintained a minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and served as starters or contributors throughout the season.
The five Black Bears named to this year’s society are Malcolm Folk, Bryce Purnell, Samuel Tremblay, Scott Woods, and Zachary Zoglio.
This acknowledgment underscores the commitment of these athletes not only on the field but also in their academic pursuits during the 2025 season.
As stated by UMaine at the conclusion of its announcement: “Developing Champions with Integrity Integrity | Accountability | Toughness | Excellence.”
