Four Black Bears to compete at CSCAA National Invitational Championship

Four members of the University of Maine men’s swim team will take part in the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, which is scheduled for March 12-14 in Ocala, Florida.

The event is significant as it provides an opportunity for these athletes to compete at a national level and represent their university. The swimmers participating are Joey Stauss, Nathaniel Teerlinck, Julian Lapietra, and Noah Machristie.

According to the schedule released by the university, on Thursday, March 12, Stauss will swim in the 50 butterfly and join Lapietra in the 50 freestyle. Teerlinck will compete in the 50 breaststroke. All four—Stauss, Teerlinck, Lapietra, and Machristie—will participate together in the 400 medley relay. On Friday, March 13, Machristie is set for the 400 individual medley while Stauss competes in the 100 butterfly and Teerlinck swims in the 100 breaststroke. Saturday’s events include Stauss in the 100 individual medley, Lapietra in the 100 freestyle, and Machristie swimming the 200 breaststroke.

This competition offers valuable experience for student-athletes and highlights their achievements during this season.
