The University of Maine softball team will play four games at home this week, hosting Husson University on April 15 and Binghamton University for a three-game series beginning April 18 at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex.

These games are important as they mark both non-conference and America East matchups, offering fans opportunities to support the Black Bears while engaging in special events. The game against Husson is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on AmericaEast.TV. The series with Binghamton starts with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon, followed by a single game Sunday at noon; all three conference contests can be viewed on ESPN+.

Wednesday’s contest features Rumble Cup night, part of UMaine Residence Life’s Spring Rumble Cup attendance competition. The dormitory with the most attendees will receive a giant Jenga set for use in their building. Fans are encouraged to wear neon colors to the only weeknight game of the season. Sunday’s matchup against Binghamton is designated as Strike Out Cancer day.

Maine has historically dominated its series with Husson, holding an all-time record of 155-0 since their first meeting in 1979. The Eagles come into the matchup ranked twentieth nationally in Division III according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll released April 7, riding a five-game winning streak after defeating Colby.

Against Binghamton, Maine holds an even all-time record but has lost its last five meetings with the Bearcats. Their most recent encounters included two losses earlier this season and weather-related cancellations have affected several past matchups.

Looking ahead, Maine will travel to Bryant University next weekend before returning home for its final regular season series against UAlbany.
