After 25 years of service, Cpl. Peter Garland has officially retired. Cpl. Garland work primarily in corrections, but also served as reserve deputy sheriff and had a great deal of experience with the courts,  while supervising transports. Only a few in this profession can say they worked in all facets of the criminal justice system, but Cpl. Garland can. His work in law enforcement, corrections and the courts allowed him to experience, the entire system. Cpl. Garland’s career was filled with serving, this also includes his time in the military, where he proudly served in the Army.

During a recent retirement luncheon, it was evident of the impact Cpl. Garland had and the difference he made. Members from the entire criminal justice system came to share their thanks and acknowledgements.

The Pine State Armory in Showhegan and members of the Sheriff’s Office were able to come together to present Cpl. Garland with a specially wrapped retirement firearm and a memory box.

While there will never be enough thanks to cover the years of service Cpl. Garland provided to the Sheriff’s Office or Army, please help us say THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS!
