On March 19, 2023 at approximately 8:00am, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Route 2 in Hermon for single vehicle fatal traffic crash.

A lone sedan traveling toward Hermon village left the roadway, striking an embankment, utility pole and small business property. The vehicle rolled over several times before coming to rest. 

The lone male occupant was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The crash was investigated by sheriff’s deputies, investigators, crash reconstruction and forensic mappers. Hermon Fire Department provided an assistance at the scene. The crash occurred on the Bangor side of the Route 2 and Coldbrook road, near Maine Recovery. The road will be closed for sometime , and power service may be interrupted this afternoon. 

No names or further information will be released while continued notifications are being made and the investigation remains active.
