On December 21, 2022, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in Mount Chase, Maine.  During the several-week investigation, information revealed that the victim had been assaulted and a prohibited person had possession of a firearm.  It also confirmed that the suspect was on bail for previous criminal charges.  

On February 07, 2023, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team conducted a search warrant at an address in Mount Chase.  During this search warrant, 38-year-old Trevor Desrosiers was placed under arrest and charged with Assault, Unlawful Sexual Contact, Violation of Condition of Release, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.  During a subsequent search, two firearms were located within the residence.  

Customs and Border Protection assisted the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office during this incident.
