Penobscot County ranked 10th in Maine for resident earnings in 2019

Penobscot County ranked 10th among counties in Maine by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Penobscot County residents was $25,832 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 62,156 households with a population of 151,774.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Cumberland County with $35,560 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,728 more than Penobscot County. It had 120,644 households with a population of 292,307.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Piscataquis County with $21,687 per year after adjusting for inflation – $4,145 less than Penobscot County. It had 7,025 households with a population of 16,836.
