Penobscot County Sheriff's Office Investigates Fatal Crash in Corinth

On Monday March 7, 2022 at about 6:12am the Penobscot Regional Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a two vehicle crash on the Exeter Rd. (Rt 43) in Corinth.  First arriving emergency personnel discovered a two vehicle head on crash involving a GMC pick-up truck and a Kia Sorento passenger car. The 59 year old male operator of the Kia was deceased and the 69 year old male operator of the pick-up truck was transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center by Mayo Ambulance with serious injuries.

Deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash and believe icy roads were a factor in the crash. Forensic mapping and crash reconstruction is being conducted by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Maine State Police, the Corinth Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance.

 This incident remain under investigation. Names of those involved will be withheld until further notices can be made.
