Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Mobile Command Post

3276e

Today the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office took possession of our new retro-fitted Mobile Command Post. The vehicle was originally assigned as a chemical response vehicle to Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland until 2017.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office obtained it through the military surplus program called Law Enforcement Support Office.

The Command Post will be utilized throughout Cumberland County to support any long term investigations, search and rescue calls, large community events or crisis events.

Most of the costs to retrofit this vehicle came from various grants and drug forfeiture proceeds. We also appreciate the financial support through Capital Improvement from the Cumberland County Commissioners and the County Manager.
