Sheriff Troy Morton receives national recognition

It is my privilege to announce the national recognition Sheriff Morton recently received.

On Thursday, March 17th, Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster and Knox County Sheriff Tim Carroll came to Penobscot County to present Sheriff Morton with this honorable award and recognition.

Sheriff Morton received the National Medal of Merit from the National Sheriffs' Association. The NSA recognized Sheriff Morton for his role as the MSA President during these unprecedented times. A nationwide pandemic, demands for law enforcement reform and a very challenging legislative session were a few of the tasks Sheriff Morton faced with Sheriffs across the state.

I appreciate the direction and contributions the Sheriff has made for our office and the citizens of our county. It's clear others appreciated his efforts as well. I am proud to be part of our strong team and the Maine Sheriffs' Association

" One Team, One Mission".

Sincerely,

Chief Deputy John Knappe
