Media Release

Incident Date:    05/10/2022

Incident Time:  5:55 PM

Incident Location: Ossipee Trail East, Standish

Release Date:  05/10/2022

Release Time: 9:00 PM

On the above date and time, a Cumberland County Deputy was sitting stationary in a business parking lot on the Northeast Road in Standish. He observed and heard a motorcycle accelerating rapidly and passing several vehicles at one time driving towards Ossipee Trail. The Deputy was able to catch up with the motorcycle at the intersection of Northeast Road and Ossipee Trail. The operator of the motorcycle then saw the Deputy attempting to stop him and fled, driving through a red light nearly causing a crash and went towards Gorham. The Deputy  then stopped attempting to stop the motorcycle at that time due to heavy traffic.  Several witnesses stated the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed down Ossipee Trail and drove through the red light at the Colonial Shopping Center and side swiped a vehicle pulling out. The motorcycle then rolled over several times, ejecting the operator.

Marissa Perron (27) of Limington was operating a 2018 GMC Terrain, which was struck by the motorcycle. Perron was not injured, and her vehicle sustained minor damage. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Randall Howard (21) of Lewiston. Howard was transported by Standish Rescue for serious but non-life threatening injuries to Maine Medical Center. He was wearing a helmet. He was operating a 2001 Kawasaki ZX 1200 that was unregistered and totaled in the crash.

Randall Howard was operating with a suspended license, was on several sets of bail conditions and probation. Howard faces several charges and this incident remains under investigation.
