Each May, we honor the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have died in the line of duty, during National Police Week. Yesterday, at the National Law Enforcement Memorial, 619 names were added to the more than 22,000 names of officers who died in the line of duty throughout U.S. history, dating back to 1786.
The individuals listed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial wall, "weren't extraordinary people, rather they were regular people doing extraordinary things". Let us not forget their sacrifice.
