Eastern Maine Community College Active Threat Training with Bangor Police Department

029e

Active threat training with Bangor Police Dept was an excellent experience for some of our Criminal Justice students last week. The students role-played injured, innocent and deceased individuals in the scenarios held at the Husson University campus throughout the week. They were able to meet and spend time with officers outside of training as well. There were multiple scenarios at Husson University; two of which were in the Gracie Theatre and the gymnasium. The Bangor Fire Department attended and worked together with BPD for the Gracie Theatre scenario, which was the first co-training scenario between the departments in 30 years! The students learned a lot about entering scenes and understanding certain tactics for this type of incident.

It was a busy week. The students who were able to be present on Friday were awarded BPD challenge coins for our help, commitment, and dedication.
