Missing elderly Lincoln man found in woods.
Lincoln Police Department and Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office
On Monday, June 20th at approximately 9:00pm, the Lincoln Police Department received a report of a missing man in a rural part of Lincoln. The report indicated an elderly man suffering with dementia had wondered off and was thought to be in the woods.
Several agencies responded to the area to assist the Lincoln Police. The Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue Team, Forest Rangers, and K9 units from both the Maine Warden Service and State Police responded.
During the search, the Sheriff’s Office utilized its drone capabilities and was able to locate the man lying in thick woods. Deputies were able to guide a Game Warden and Lincoln Police Officer through the terrain to the man. Once located, the Lincoln Ambulance service transported the man to the hospital for observation.
The thick woods, cold temperatures and vast area made the quick response critical to safety locating the gentlemen.
