CM Men's soccer played out a 3 - 3 draw with St. Joseph's College in their season home opener.
Ivan Dominques opened the scoring off a lofted through ball from brother Isidoro. Ivan ran on to the bouncing ball before heading it over the out-rushing goalkeeper. The Monks applied waves or pressure to the Mustangs goal without being able to trouble goal keeper Arnaud Nyagasaza. Romano Bassa added the second goal late into the 1st half. Cutting in off the wing before crossing the ball to the front post where it skipped past the St. Joes keeper to bring the Mustangs in 2 - 0 at the half.
The Monks started brightly pulling a goal back early in the second half with a chipped shot over the head of substitute goalkeeper Davin Cloutier. Ivan Dominques scored his second and restored the Mustangs two goal lead with a high shot over the head of the St. Joes goalkeeper off an entry pass from Abdirahman Daud.
St. Joes scored their 2nd goal from open play, and 3rd off a penalty kick to round out the scoring as the contest ended 3 - 3.
The Mustangs return to action this Wednesday as they host the Husson Eagles at 6pm.
