The North Atlantic Conference announced its third week of weekly volleyball awards on Monday and Husson University sophomore Julia Leavitt was named NAC Player of the Week while senior Cheyenne Young earned NAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Leavitt earned her first NAC Player of the Week accolade after helping the Eagles finish 1-1 on the week including a career-high 24 kills for a .477 hitting percentage in her teams five-set victory over the University of Southern Maine that snapped a 10-year loosing skid against the Huskies. Leavitt followed up her stellar performance against USM with a 19-kill effort against the University of Maine - Fort Kent. Overall, Leavitt finished the week with 43 kills and a .271 hitting percentage to go along with six service aces, 22 digs and two blocks.
Young capped off a stellar week as one of the Eagles top all-around players finishing with 25 digs and six blocks while playing several different positions. Young finished the week with 27 kills rotating between outside hitter, middle and back row picking up several clutch digs and blocks in Husson's five-set with over USM.
