On Monday September 19, 2022at approximately 8:20pm, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on the Greenfield Road in Greenbush. A male was reported to have broken into the occupied home through a window. The homeowner discharged a firearm toward the male intruder and the intruder fled the residence. While responding deputies were advised that another resident of the Greenfield Road had called 911 and reported a male had broken into their home and then had also fled. Based on the information received, it appeared the same male was involved both incidents.
Several sheriff deputies arrived in the area less than 15 minutes after the initial call and encountered the male standing on the side of the roadway. The male, later identified as Justin Masters, 33 years old of Greenbush, was not compliant to the orders of the deputies and fled on foot to his residence on the Park Road in Greenbush. Deputies were successful in taking Mr. Masters into custody and confirmed he had not been shot and was not injured.
Mr. Masters was transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to be evaluated. After being discharged from Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Mr. Master was transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
Mr. Masters has been charged with Class B Burglary, Class D Criminal Mischief and Class D Failure to Submit to Arrest and remains at the Penobscot County Jail.
PCSO deputies were assisted by the Maine Warden Service and the Old Town Fire Department. Fortunately no law enforcement officers, paramedics or civilians were injured during this incident.
