Over the weekend, the Western Maine Addiction Recovery Initiative (WMARI) hosted their annual Recovery Rally. The stories volunteers and members shared were testaments of resiliency and strength. It’s events like these that help everyone understand the power of substance use disorders, and that the disease can impact anyone and any family.
Sgt. Matt Baker serves as the WMARI liaison for the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office. He does a great job advocating for families and individuals struggling, and we are proud of the work he, and members of WMARI, have accomplished to help break the stigma of addiction.
Sheriff Christopher Wainwright presented a challenge coin to a few volunteers at the event to celebrate and recognize their sobriety.
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office is a proud partner of WMARI and Project SaveME, and we encourage all who need guidance and support to seek help.
Remember, you are not alone.
