Bates College, playing its final road contest of the season, closed out the away slate in style as the Bobcats brushed off Maine Maritime Academy, 3-0, in Wednesday night women's volleyball action.
The victory snaps a six-match slide for the Bobcats (6-15) as the garnet and white recorded scores of 25-23, 25-10, and 26-24 in the three-set sweep. The effort marks Bates' first shutout performance since sweeping both Regis College and Smith College back on Sept. 10 in Northampton, Mass.
MMC sees its nine-game winning come to an abrupt halt as the Mariners fall to 18-3 with the setback.

Julia Neumann (So.-Norwell, Mass.) followed with seven kills and a stellar hitting percentage of .538 (0 E, 13 TA). Ami Evans (Fy.-Honolulu, Hawaii) also enjoyed a seven-kill performance for road team, complementing her three aces and five digs.
