Penobscot County Sheriff's Office investigates pedestrian traffic crash

On November 19, 2022, at 1:30 pm, the Penobscot Regional Communications Center received a report of a car versus pedestrian traffic accident.  The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, Newburgh Fire Department, Capital Ambulance, and the Hampden Police Department all responded to the area of 2072 Carmel Road North in Newburgh. 

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 56 year-old female had been struck by the vehicle and was later transported to Northern Light Hospital in Bangor with serious injuries.  The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, Accident Reconstructionist, Forensic Mapper, and Drone operators all responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. 

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in this investigation.  This investigation remains open at this time.
