The Husson University women's basketball team announced its first recruit of 2023 class, Callaway LePage on Thursday.

LePage, a three-year starter for the Skowhegan Area High School Riverhawks, was named to the all-tournament team last season as she helped the Maine Principles Association Class A school to a gold ball. The 2022 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference First Team selection has been a three-year starter for the program, however, she will miss her senior season due to injury. She was also named to the Portland Press Herald All-State Third Team in 2022 and played AAU for the Maine React under Eagles assistant coach, Randy Dodge.

"Callaway is a physical player who grew up as a triplet playing sports with her two brothers," said head coach Kissy Walker. "Her physical play will help her with the transition to the collegiate level.  She has been a winner all through high school as well as an excellent student who will be a nice addition to our front court."

In addition to basketball, LePage also plays field hockey at Skowhegan, winning two state titles during her time, including being a captain on the Riverhawks state title this past Fall. She has also seen success on the softball field winning state title in 2020.

Academically, LePage is currently the National Honor Society Vice President as she has been a member for the past two years. She has been named to the high honor roll every quarter as well as the Habits of Work High Honor Roll and is a student council officer.

LePage plans on studying physical therapy during her time at Husson.
