The Husson University women's track & field team continued its impressive indoor season on Sunday with a strong showing at the Frozen 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships, breaking two program records while senior Payton Goodwin won the 800 meters.
Freshman Addi Laslie finished sixth in the 60 meters with a time of 8.50, while senior Willow Whitten clocked a 1:03.47 in the 400 meters to finish fifth, breaking her personal record of 1:04.54 set last week.
Goodwin continued her dominating indoor season winning the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.88, just missing her own program record set last weekend. Sophomore Ava Dowling finished third in the event with a mark of 2:29.68, while tallying a second-place performance in the mile with a time of 5:22.86.
Junior Miranda Dunton finished fifth in the mile with a time of 5:46.52, while freshman Grace Bedore clocked a sixth-place performance in the 3,000 meters with a 11:54.30.
Freshman Angelina Cotoni ran to a fourth-place showing in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.29 breaking her own personal record of 10.36.
The Eagles 4x400-meter relay team of Whitten, senior Norah Garvey, Goodwin and freshman Madalynn Hubbard finished second overall with an impressive time of 4:16.99, breaking the original program record of 4:17.29 set by Garvey, Whitten, Goodwin and Mia Hanning in 2020.
The Eagles record setting day continued in the distance-medley relay as the team of Before, Laslie, Dunton and Dowling broke the program record with a time of 13:47.14. Smashing the original record of 14:04.29 set by Emma Abbott, Garvey, Goodwin and Dunton in 2021.
Freshman Alexis Freeman cleared 2.40 meters in the pole vault to finish sixth, while Goodwin finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 4.69 meters, edging junior Quinn Young who tallied a sixth-place performance in the event with a 4.60-meter jump, cracking the top 10 in program history.
Young also finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 9.72 meters.
Freshman thrower's Katelynn Reynolds and Megan Fletcher finished fifth and sixth, respectively in the shot put scoring throws of 9.08 and 8.92 meters, respectively.
Sophomore Aaralynn Scroggins turned in the Eagles best throwing performance on the day finishing second in the weight throw with a throw of 11.90 meters. Scroggins throw of 11.90 meters ranks her fourth all-time in program history.
