The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is saddened to announce that we lost a dedicated member of our Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) program. Ms. Phyllis Schroeder, passed away last week.

Phyllis was in the first VIPS training academy in 2008. Phyllis dedicated many years to the Senior Neighborhood Assistance Program (SNAP) doing wellness calls to various senior citizens in Cumberland County every morning.

Ms. Schroeder was active with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office VIPS until her own health declined a few years ago. She loved going out on patrol and helping out in any way she could. As was stated in her obituary, she was especially proud to be a member of our organization.

We honor Phyllis’ service to our community and she will be surely missed. Rest in Peace.
