UMaine announces All Quarter-Century football team selections

The University of Maine announced on Apr. 10 the members of its All Quarter-Century Team, recognizing 63 former Black Bears football players as top performers at their positions since the start of the century.

This announcement highlights significant contributions made by these athletes to the UMaine football program over the past twenty-five years.

The selection process involved all four head coaches who have led the team during this period: Jack Cosgrove, Joe Harasymiak, Nick Charlton, and current head coach Jordan Stevens. These coaches compiled their individual lists and submitted them to long-time broadcast team members Rich Kimball and Bob Lucy, who finalized both First and Second Team rosters.

Notable First Team selections include Jake Eaton at quarterback; running backs Royston English, Josh Mack, and Marcus Williams; tight end Justin Perillo; wide receivers Earnest Edwards, Christian Pereira, and Micah Wright; as well as standout offensive linemen Ryan Canary, Jamil Demby, Chris Howley, Bruce Johnson, and Ben Lazarski. The defensive line features Trevor Bates, Dennis Dottin-Carter, Matthew King, Patrick Ricard, and Kayon Whitaker. Linebackers Stephen Cooper, Christophe Mulumba-Tshimanga, Sterling Sheffield, and Jermaine Walker were also honored alongside secondary players Trevor Coston, Dave Cusano, Kendall James, Brandon McGowan, and Jerron McMillian. Special teams included kicker Sean Decloux and punter Mike Mellow with Earnest Edwards and Arel Gordon recognized for kick returns.

Second Team honors went to Marcus Wasilewski and Warren Smith at quarterback; running backs Pushaun Brown, Jhamal Fluellen,and Jared Turcotte; tight ends Chad Hayes and Shawn Bowman; wide receivers Damarr Aultman,Montigo Moss,and Landis Williams; offensive linemen Liam Dobson,Michael Gerace ,Joe Hook ,Michael Leconte ,and Peter Richardson ; defensive linemen Michael Cole ,Brendan Curry ,Mike DeVito ,Charles Mitchell ,and Jordan Stevens ; linebackers Donte Dennis ,Andrew Downey,Taji Lowe,and Adrian Otero ; secondary Manauris Arias ,Jarrod Gomes,Manny Patterson,Daren Stone,and Devin Vaught ; kicker Kenny Doak ; punter Kash Kiefer ; kick returners Lennard Byrd,and Trevin Ewing .

According to UMaine’s release: “Developing Champions with Integrity | Integrity | Accountability | Toughness | Excellence” remains a guiding principle for the program.
