The University of Maine football program announced on March 25 the kickoff times for all home games and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) road matchups for the upcoming 2026 season.

This announcement is important for fans, players, and staff as it provides clarity on the schedule, allowing supporters to plan ahead for attending games at Harold Alfond Stadium at Morse Field and following away fixtures.

The Black Bears are set to play five home games during the season. Due to Sacramento State’s move to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), Maine does not expect to host them in football this year as originally planned. The university said it is working with Sacramento State leadership to find alternative options in football or other sports in future seasons. “At this point in the calendar, it is unlikely we will be able to fill the now open Nov. 7 date as a home game, though we are actively continuing to pursue all opportunities,” officials said.

Maine will start its season on Thursday, August 29 at Towson with a 6 p.m. kickoff. The team’s first home game will be against Merrimack on Saturday, September 12 at 5 p.m., followed by three consecutive home games: Sacred Heart on October 3 (3:30 p.m.), Bryant on October 17 (1 p.m.), and Campbell during Homecoming Weekend on October 24 (1 p.m.). Road contests include trips to Appalachian State, Boston College, Elon, Rhode Island, and UAlbany.

The regular season concludes with a home game against New Hampshire in the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket on November 21 at 1 p.m. Season tickets go on sale April 1; renewals for current holders run through May 1.

Looking ahead, Maine’s athletic department encourages support through contributions that fund nutrition, equipment, travel expenses and more via programs like the Alfond Football Challenge.
