The New England Collegiate Conference announced its weekly field hockey awards on Monday and Husson University senior Kimmie Goddard was named defensive player of the week while freshman Maddie Perkins earned rookie of the week honors.
Goddard earns defensive player of the week for the first time this season after posting a six-save shutout against Thomas College in conference action.
Perkins was named rookie of the week for the second time this season after recording the game-winning score in her team's 3-0 victory over Thomas.
