The Commonwealth Coast Conference announced its weekly football awards on Tuesday and Husson University junior Tucker Buzzell was named defensive player of the week.
Buzzell finished the week with 10 tackles and two tackles for loss, giving the inside linebacker his fourth double-digit tackle game of the season. Additionally, Buzzell picked off a University of New England pass late in the fourth quarter and returned it 35 yards to the house to help secure Husson's 31-14 victory.
Currently, Buzzell leads the CCC with 69 tackles and 11.5 tackles per game. The junior has recorded 32 solo stops and 37 assisted tackles to go along with six tackles for loss which ranks fifth in the conference.
