Husson University Aviolla, Nault, Laslie headline NAC Women’s Soccer All-Conference awards

The North Atlantic Conference announced its 2022 women's soccer all-conference awards on Thursday and Husson University sophomore Natalie Aviolla was named player of the year while freshman Addi Laslie earned rookie of the year honors and fellow freshman Caley Nault was named defensive player of the year.

Aviolla capped off an impressive sophomore season leading the team with 16 goals and adding three assists. Aviolla's 16 goals tied for the conference lead while the sophomore posted five multi-goal games including a hat trick against the University of Maine at Farmington. Additionally, Aviolla was named to the NAC All-Conference First Team, one of three Eagles to earn first team accolades and becomes the first Eagle since 2006 to be named player of the year.

Laslie finished her freshman season third on the team with five goals scored and tied for the team lead with five assists. Additionally, Laslie tallied her first collegiate hat trick against SUNY Cobleskill and recorded two assists in the Eagles victory over Maine Maritime Academy that gave Husson the No. 1 seed.

Nault was a staple for the Eagles on the back line as a true freshman, helping Husson compile an 8-0-1 record in conference with seven shutouts and allowed opponents only 11 shots on the year. Nault joins Aviolla on the NAC All-Conference first team and becomes the first Husson player to win defensive player of the year since Caitlyn Butterfield in 2010.

Freshman Marila Corletto also earned NAC All-Conference First Team honors after racking up five goals to finish tied for third on the team while adding two assists.

Senior Charlotte Messer garnered all-conference second team honors after finishing second on the Eagles with eight goals and one assist scoring a hat trick in Husson's victory over Northern Vermont University-Johnson.

Freshman Kendra Donahue was named to the all-conference third team, playing alongside Nault on the Eagles backline that limited opponents to just 11 shot attempts in conference.

Lastly, sophomore Megan Buddymeyer was named to the sportsmanship team.
