The Husson University women's basketball team took to the road Saturday afternoon beating Colby College 69-49 thanks in part to sophomore Hannah Richards career-high 19 points.
Husson (6-3) came out shooting lights out from behind the 3-point arc in route to opening up an 18-point advantage over Colby (3-5) heading into the half.
Richard finished the opening half an impressive 5-5 from 3-point range as the Eagles finished the half shooting 6-9 from deep.
The Mules mounted a comeback early in the third quarter, pulling with seven points of the Eagles, but strong defense and ball movement on the offensive end of the court saw Husson open up a 20-point advantage in the second half and cruised to the 69-49 decision.
Richards finished with a team-high 19 points in 22 minutes, while junior Bailey Donovan tallied 14 points, eight boards and four blocks in the win.
Junior Trinity Montigny tallied five points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals while sophomore Sophia McVicar recorded nine points off the bench for the Eagles.
Husson finished the game shooting 47.6 percent from behind the 3-point line and forced the Mules to commit 24 turnovers for the game.
The Eagles will get a much-needed break before traveling to the Sunshine State on Dec. 28 and 30 for the 2022 Florida Sunshine Shootout against Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Emmanuel College.
