The Husson University men's basketball program received its second commitment for the 2023 recruiting class. Will Kusnierz, a 6-5 wing from Dexter High School has committed to attend and play at Husson.
Kusnierz led the Dexter Tigers to a Northern Maine Championship in 2022 and has helped his team to a 7-0 start this year. He is coached by longtime head coach Peter Murry. Kusnierz is currently 50 points shy of the career 1,000-point mark.
"Will has had a great career at Dexter, he plays all five positions on the floor for them." head coach Warren Caruso said. "We see Will as a wing at the next level, he can knock down the three and has solid ball skills to create for himself and others."
Kusnierz, the 2022 PVCC Player of the Year, is currently averaging 23.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists for the Tigers this year. Also, in 2022 he was named the 2022 Class C North Tournament MVP.
Kusnierz will study nursing at Husson. Over his academic career at Dexter he has been president of the Student Council, a member of the Key Club and National Honor Society.
Kusnierz joins Javari Ellison of Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, New Hampshire in the Eagles 2023 recruiting class.
The Eagles are the defending NAC champions and are currently 3-8 and 1-0 NAC. Husson has won eight out of the last 13 NAC Tournaments — no tournament in 2021 due to COVID-19.
